I have always been captivated by the spiritual beauty inherent in wood. I am especially drawn to the process of creating art on the lathe, although I also enjoy other forms of working with wood, From the initial experience of turning my first piece over 20 years ago, I was hooked.
My goal is to produce art in simple, classic shapes whether it be polychromatic segmented or pieces pierced with intricate patterns. They are a synthesis of pottery and glass, using the simple, classic shapes of Oriental, European and Native American forms. My intent is that these simple, classic shapes will spark your imagination and draw you to the timeless and endearing, beauty that is wood.
My work consists of many different forms of turning. To grow as an artist I feel it is important to constantly explore and experiment with different styles and techniques of turning.
